Risk Assessment

Lectromec designs specific programs to meet the needs of each customer. "Wire Management" is a broad term that describes the collaboration between Lectromec's engineers and your company's personnel for the purpose of assessing the overall health of wiring systems and circuitry. Once the wire condition is known, appropriate and educated maintenance actions can be taken by the aircraft operator.

A Risk Assessment is a vital part of the Wire System Health Management and can produce the maximum results by combining wire testing in Lectromec's laboratory with wire layout evaluation by our custom-developed software, the Electrical Wire Interconnect Systems Risk Assessment Tool EWIS RAT™. This is usually conducted after inspection and testing have been completed. Lectromec prides itself in assisting customers realize invaluable economic and safety-related benefits from this proactive approach. Lectromec has worked with a diverse host of customers including: foreign and domestic militaries, private sector businesses, wire manufacturers, government agencies, and the media. As the aging wire issue becomes more visible and increasingly critical, Lectromec offers solutions to help minimize wire system-related problems.

Laboratory Services

Lectromec's laboratory is capable of performing a wide variety of testing services associated with wire certification, analysis, and research. These capabilities range from age degradation analysis (both insulation and conductor), to physical and electrical testing.

Among our offerings is the Inherent Viscosity Test, which Lectromec conducts under an agreement with DuPont. The Inherent Viscosity test is a proven laboratory method of determining the condition of wiring insulation. Also available for testing in our lab is arc testing (to specification or custom configurations), force hydrolysis testing, high temperature testing, mechanical test equipment, and more.
